DHL Express is pleased to announce that it has restored all services in Canada, reinstating all operations effective June 30.

The resumption of operations follows a successful agreement reached between DHL Express Canada and the Unifor trade union, which represents a significant proportion of our workforce in Canada, after nearly a year of negotiations. This 4-year agreement will remain in effect until July 1, 2029.

Invalid USPS Tracking Information

Resolved

Most packages that have experienced these issues have now been successfully delivered and this incident will be closed.

Mar 26, 2025 6:24 pm
Identified

An update from USPS has informed us that there have been a batch of "recycled" tracking numbers being used lately. This means your tracking number has been previously used for a different shipment and should update with proper tracking information once it has been scanned by a USPS distribution center. You can read more regarding this below:

Why it happens:
USPS handles a massive volume of packages daily, and to manage this, they sometimes reuse tracking numbers.

What to expect:
When a tracking number is recycled, you might see old tracking data associated with that number, potentially showing a "Delivered" status even though your package is still en route.

How to resolve:
Once the new package is scanned by USPS, the tracking information should update to reflect the current status of your shipment.

If you encounter issues:
If the tracking information doesn't update, you can contact USPS customer service for assistance.

Investigating

We have now also been informed of several packages that have been marked as returning to sender due to incorrect postage. Due to this error and the errors previously reported regarding packages being marked delivered, we believe this is an internal issue at USPS. We are continuing to reach out directly to USPS to get more information.

Rest assured, packages have been shipped as scheduled and we still expect them to be successfully delivered within the estimated shipping time selected at checkout. If for some reason this error causes your package to be lost or returned to sender, you will be offered a replacement or reimbursement at that time.

We thank you for your patience and understanding while this is investigated.

Investigating

We have received several reports of USPS tracking information being incorrect including tracking displaying that it has been delivered shortly after the tracking number was assigned. This is currently being investigated with USPS and we will update this incident report when we have more information.

Flooding and Severe Weather Impacting Delivery

Resolved

All warehouses have returned to full operations.

Nov 12, 2024 5:05 pm
Identified

Hurricanes Helene and Milton, flooding, and severe weather events in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic U.S. (FL, GA, SC, NC, and VA) may impact the processing, transportation, and delivery of mail and packages. Please allow additional time for final delivery of your orders.

In addition, some items available for purchase on SMOKEA are fulfilled by our partner warehouse located in Asheville, North Carolina. Due to the effects of hurricane Helene, this warehouse lost power and internet as well as water and as a result were not able to operate the shipping department. Currently, this warehouse is open under limited operations and hope to be able to get back to full operations as soon as possible. Orders placed after September 26th containing these items may see this portion of your order delayed until further notice. If you would like to cancel this portion of your order, please reach out to our support team at support@smokea.com to request a refund for these items.
