USPS Tracking May Show an Incorrect “Delivered” Status

Monitoring

If you recently placed an order and your USPS tracking shows your package as “Delivered” — possibly to a different address, city, or state, or marked “Archived” — please don’t worry. Your order is safe and on its way to the address you provided.

What’s happening

USPS processes an enormous volume of packages and, to keep enough tracking numbers available, periodically reuses (“recycles”) older ones. When a recycled number is assigned to a new shipment, it can still be carrying the previous package’s tracking history. That is why a brand-new order may temporarily display as already delivered, sometimes to a location that isn’t yours.

This is a USPS tracking-display issue only. It does not mean your package was misdelivered, lost, or shipped to the wrong place. The recycled number has no effect on where your order is actually headed.

What this means for your order

  • Your package was fulfilled and handed off to USPS as normal.
  • It is in transit to the shipping address on your order.
  • The old tracking information will not change where or when your package is delivered.

What to do

  • Give it a little time. In most cases the tracking corrects itself once USPS scans your label at their first sorting facility.
  • If it doesn’t update, your local Post Office or USPS Customer Service (1-800-275-8777) can often look up the package internally using the same tracking number, even when the website still shows the old data.
  • Still have concerns? Reach out to us and we’ll be glad to confirm your order details and keep an eye on it with you.

What we’re doing

We’re aware of the issue, monitoring affected shipments on our end, and standing by to help if any order needs attention once it has had time to move through the USPS network. We’ll update this notice as the situation changes.

Thank you for your patience — and for being a SMOKEA® customer. Your order is on the way.
